Transparent about responsibilities. Careful with implementation detail.

A useful evaluation should explain what the offered system does, how it handles a collection and what deployment requires.

A connected archive workflow

VAIMS combines collection discovery, media-specific processing, retrieval and source review in a configured local environment. Public pages describe the outcomes a user can assess.

Third-party components

The system uses third-party components for functions such as media decoding, text recognition, speech processing, model inference and storage. Those components retain their own licenses and notices.

Commercial use is build-specific

A component being free to download does not establish that every model, codec, dependency or distribution method has the same permissions. Commercial deployment requires a review of the actual packaged build and its obligations.

What technical evaluators can request

  • Supported hardware and media scope for the proposed engagement
  • Data handling, derivative storage and retention information
  • Applicable component and license notices for the offered build
  • Support, update, recovery and deployment responsibilities

The public website does not serve as a software license or an exhaustive component inventory. Required notices accompany the relevant distribution.

Product implementation

VAIMS implementation details and proprietary materials are discussed privately when relevant to a defined evaluation or partnership. Public descriptions do not grant rights to the software or its source code.
